Hi

I am trying to trace the birth date and parents of my ggg grandfather Allan Cameron. From census records he states that he was born in Fort William and by 1841 he was in Dunblane Perthshire, where he married Janet Whitehead in the same year. The census age given in 1841 was 19 so he would have been born c1822. Allan and Janet eventually moved to Motherwell and settled c1850-2. Janet died in 1875 and I can find no trace of Allan after this date. 

So far, I have searched without luck for his dob and parents and I can get no further back on this part of my tree.

Does this sound familiar to anyone or can anyone help me find this info?
