Hello
A number of listers have been most useful to me over a long period of time in my quest to research my ancestor JOHN BUGDEN of Farley.

This is my chance to thank all the wonderful people who have been endlessly patient and helpful in my project.

I have been teaching myself web design and finally posted my data about him at last. It is a work in progress, but if you would like to see what I have been able to achieve with the advice and help of people on this board then check it out!

Cheers

Greg Bugden

thank you

Hi Greg, great to see the result of your researches, it makes very interesting reading.   John Bugden certainly had a chequered career which continued in Australia.

Cheers dave

I'm so glad you saw it Dave, I was hoping you would. You might have noticed that all of John's ancestors are a result of your searches on my behalf. With the information you gave me I have been slowly adding what details I can, as you can see.

Thanks again

Congratulations Greg,

It is a good read and aids understanding of the events which shaped the lives of our convict forbears.

Ah well Dave, this family history stuff is addictive, so I do have a project as you have correctly intuited.

I've shaken another convict out of the family tree and he is my focus now. I hope to build up his story in a similar way to John Bugden.

Daniel New is his name and he was about 26 years old when arrived in Sydney as a convict April 9 1835 aboard the "Lady Nugent".

His native place was somewhere in Berkshire where he was a farm servant and shepherd. He was found guilty of stealing grain at the Berkshire Assizes 25 Feb 1834 and sentenced to 7 years transportation.

But there are many 'News' in Berkshire and I have no way of identifying his family since I don't know his town.

What are your projects? Are you doing your own research or still being a helper for others?
