Hi Colin

Thanks for the offer of a gedcom,I will email you.

Your tree is not wrong, hopefully I can explain although it will be a bit long winded

Jane Douglas and Jane Muir Falla are one and the same.Jane Muir Falla b 8th May 1857, Dryfesdale,Bridge,Dumfriesshire to mother Christina Falla,Jane Muir Falla was classed illigitimate. On Janes birth record, below mothers name is Domicile,  Dunsdalehaugh Parish of Selkirk,  Dunsdalehaugh helps to confirm its the correct Christina Falla as Christina married George Fairbairn in Aug 1865 Selkirk and they lived at Dunsdale cottages according to census records, also Christina's pre married life was at Dunsdale Cottages since at least 1841 census.I do not have the full picture after Jane Muir Falla's birth, cannot find her on 1861 census and on the 1871 census there is a Jane Douglas of the correct age born in Dryfesdale living in Dryfesdale with five others, no relations and of varying ages Huh by 1881 she is married to John Richardson with son David,1891 with husband John children David,Agnes,William,Andrew and James,1901 husband John and children David,Agnes,Andrew,James Samuel and Thomas.Husband John Richardson according to death record died 24 May 1912, Lochside,Lochmaben married to Jane Douglas, son William as informant, Johns Parents given as David Richardson/Agnes Little,Davids occ as blacksmith.Jane died 17 May 1924,Lochside,Lochmaben widow of John Richardson (farmer),Janes parent as Christina Fallas no father son A richardson as informant.
I will mention just uncase you are interested,Christina appears to have a 2nd illigitimate child Walter Muir Falla b1854 Selkirk and living with mother Christina and grandparents Walter & Elizabeth no sign of Jane Muir Falla  on 1861 census Undecided

I would love to find out why Jane Muir Falla aka Douglas aka Richardson did change her name,a mystery I wish I could solve. When checking on Freecen I noticed there was a couple of Douglas families living at Dunsdalehaugh in 1851 gone by 1861,Jane was born 1857 a possible maybe there Wink

I hope above makes sense, probably as clear as mud

Im glad the rest of the tree was straight forward Grin

Hi.  I have both Tweedie and Richardson in my line.  I have a Susan Richardson who married John Tweedie about 1793 in Mouswald, Dumfries.  I am also researching the Lochmaben Tweedies.  I inherited a huge Tweedie genealogy that my uncle has worked on for many years, as well as the research I have done myself.  Have you ever seen the website by John MacMillan?  It lists lots of information on these families.  The URL is http://www.johnmacmillan.co.uk/  he is wonderful to talk to.  If you connect with Susan and John Tweedie somehow, let me know and I would be glad to share what I have on them.  There is also a Tweedie Genealogy that was printed in 1902 written by Michael Forbes Tweedie.  I have a copy of this too.  If I can be of help, let me know.

Hi Fiona

Your John Gibson Tweedie father of Joseph Steele Tweedie & brother of my 3x GGrandfather William Tweedie, their parents are James Tweedie & Elizabeth Gibson.
James is the brother of John Tweedie m Susan Richardson.
John being my 4x GGrandUncle.

I also have had contact with the Mac Millans, & my greatest contributer to my tree was Philip Tweedie of the same site whom was gracious enough to give my the whole Tweedie line from Lochmaben & also put me in contact with  descendants of the Richardson line.

Hope this helps you to connect a little more of the Tweedie line.

Cheers for now Peaches

Hi Brenda

The LDS site has extracted not submitted records for Susanna Richardson and sibling Mary Richardson b27 Sep 1770,Mouswald,daughters of Joseph Richardson and Janet RICHARDSON. Extracted are usually the best to go by although these extracted records have Susanna christened 29 Nov 1767 Mouswald and her birth 1 Dec 1767  Mouswald Huh. It is possible that Janets maiden name is Richardson.

Hi Brenda

I have Susans parents as Joseph Richardson & Janet Richardson, but I think that this is the information that Jack & Madeline gave me.
Have a child Susan Richardson b. 1767 & d. 1769 and second child Susan born 1769 & d. 1829.
Sorry but I have done absolutely no research on the Richardson line.

Cheers

Hi Brenda

Havn't actually met them, did do a  bit of correspondance with them about our families quite a few years back, when Philip Tweedie put us in contact. So my information is very old to say the least.

Cheers

They are my aunt and uncle.  It is their genealogy that has been passed down to me.  I am still working hard on it.
