I hope I am on the right site for a marriage that may have taken place in Gretna Green!!
Leslie George Thomas Garrattley married Louisa (or Louie) Nix but I cannot find them anywhere. I believe this is a second marriage, first child Jane born in 1923. They only had two children that survived because Louisa must have reached the end of her child bearing years.
I have their death certificates which gives me a rough indication of their ages. Leslie George born 1887 and Louisa born 1885.
It's a last resort before I put them on the back burner for a while.
I hope someone can help please.

Hi Shirley,
Do you know for sure that they married at all?
What do you know of any previous marriages? I see none for Louisa but a possible one for Leslie in 1914 to a Sarah E. Picton (Dec 1914 Horsham) with one likely son of the marriage in 1915.

Hello Anna
I found that to be the only one and I sent for the certificate hoping it would give me some clue. I figured it could be possible for him to have been posted to Horsham if he was in the Army and I did find some Army Records for him (that's if it is my LGT Garrattley.
I thought that Sarah Garrattley must have died for him to have married again, but I couldn't find a death for her.
What name is the son you found in 1915 Anna?
I can't be sure that they were married, I can only assume that they got married, I wouldn't like to tell my daughter in law that her Great Grandparents were living in sin!

Thank you Hannah ~ I did have Noel S Garrattley on file, just in case his father was LGT Garrattley, but I didn't have his death, he lived to quite a grand age. I take it Trafford being a district of Manchester.
Can you find a death for Sarah Garrattley at all?
