I'm trying to find the Meekins family in the 1901 census. I have found the father, Harry, who was clearly away from home at some sort of hostel in Woolwich, but not his wife and children. I would expect to find: Alice (Harry's wife) aged about 33, uncertain place of birth John / Jack aged about 18, born London (who may have left home - he was Harry's son by his first wife) Edward / Edwin / Ted, aged about 12, born Woolwich William James George, aged 9, born Woolwich Catherine / Kate, aged 5, born Woolwich Hannah Mary, aged 1 or 2, probably also born Woolwich
I know in April 1902 the family was at 74 High Street Woolwich, when the next child (Alice) was born. This particular family wasn't that reliable when it came to officialdom, with not all the children's births being registered - so maybe they hid from the enumerators too!
