Help Please!!! Finding Marriage certificate
« on: Saturday 08 January 05 17:06 GMT (UK) »

Can anyone help me trace the Marriage of Mary Burke to Thomas Hardy. They got married around 1917 - 1925 in Old Trafford I think it was at St Alphonsus Church.
If anyone can help me find the reference number so I can send of for the certificate I would be very grateful.
Many thanks

If you live in England you can search BMD indexes free of charge virtually up to date at all large libraries.

Also on the pay per view 1837 online website.
http://www.1837online.com/Trace2web/

Each search costs around 10 p per quarter viewed, with a minimum of £5 to start.

Good luck

If you can't find a ref no and you could narrow it down to 3 years then you can still order a marriage certificate. I have had to do this for my g-g-grandparents. I knew both their names and where they were born and guessed they married just before their first child in 1851 so put the years 1849, 1850 and 1851. I had no idea where they married so have at least that. Anyway I got my cert within 2 weeks which isn't bad and I don't live in the uk.

It cost £11 but I think it is worth paying the bit extra to save yourself the stress and hardship

All the best Angela.
