My g-g-g-grandfather James BRISBANE was the Graving Dock Master at Dundee in the 1841 census. I have found a few maps of this area online, but does anyone know where I could find information about the Docks at that time, either general info, or specific, e.g. employees, dock activities etc.?
TIA

Just a follow-up, to say that the Dundee Archives person is very kindly going to copy and send to me several documents relating to the employment of James Brisbane at Dundee Harbour - so thank you Dave for the suggestion to write to them!
Cheers Prue
