I thought his birthplace was "Hadleigh" on the census - hope you are not paying researchers to look in the wrong place.

I did find an Ardleigh and readup on it.

There is definitely a Hadleigh

I was just having another look at the image. It has been indexed as Ardleigh. Maybe it is. When I looked before though, my first thought was obviously Hadleigh, as that is what I wrote down.

but - mmm - another look - yes I am happy with Ardleigh!

HO107 1779 141 7 - if anyone else wants to express an opinion!
