I would be pleased if somebody could find the following plus any other family members residing with them or boarders.
Ellen Conway, born 1843. Ireland
James Conway, born 1868 Manchester.
They should be residing Hulme, last address in the 1871 census was 28 Foster Street, Hulme.

Four Conway boys born Manchester, Lancashire. The 3 oldest had the occupation of general labourer. James born 1868 is not with them though.......unless this is a different family. Could James the elder have died?
No boarders. The transcription has a much larger household but it is a mistake.

Yes that is the family and I am so sorry I put the wrong year of birth for James, of course he should have been 1878 that you found him is nothing but a miracle given all the Conways. Must use a calculator in future I really am hopeless at working back on the age. Please forgive me if I put you to extra searching.

25 Carter st Chorlton on Medlock shows Ellen CONWAY a milliner age 49 b Ireland buuut she is recorded as single. She is the only one at the moment, there was another with a son James but he was 10 years too young.............. deeiluka has just given you that one!
