need help please

I have found a marriage for

ROBERT WHITE and MARGARET DAVIDSON
27-12-1835 West Linton, Peebles

what I need to know is did they give the parents names on marriages this early and if I could get the certificate.

Hi Janway

Parents' names were only given systemmatically from 1855, when official registration began. Some Old Parish Records (OPRs) have some names but it's not consistent  Sad

This might be of help to you, but needs investigating.
I have Thomas and Janet (Horsburgh) Davidson in Colinton 1841 census. With them is a Janet White age 5.
Unfortunately 1841 does not give relationship but I would guess granddaughter.

Janet appears again in 1851 at Kittlyridge West Linton  age 14 this time with Thomas Davidson’s family (the son of Thomas and Janet brother of Margaret)

A submitted entry on igi has her born on 13 February 1836 in Midlothian. To Margaret Davidson and Robert White
  The 1851 census has her born in Currie Midlothian.
The other children of Margaret and Robert White follow the naming pattern of this Davidson family.
Robert (under the name William) and Margaret are in Kittleyknowe in 1841. And Kittleybridge in 1851 (under Robert and Mary) these entries are on freecen.
In fact I have come to understand everyone in Kittleybridge in 1851 was related, I suggest you look at these entries.
