Thats more like it. Now I am starting to recognise names. The 1851 I still need to go through, as it seems like their son died young. Charles and Mary Ann had a son Frederick Charles, and two daughters Lavinia and Julianne. But these were only born agter 1854. Thanks for your help.

Not sure where John Gould fits in. I found just now on LDS George Rabbets married to Martha Stevens, as being Charles's parents. Charles christening found 3 Dec 1815 Tollard Royal. In 1871, Charles is widow, with sister Maria living with him. Their age difference is 11 years. In 1861. I know that their son Frederick Charles was living with his mother at age 7 years, with two sisters. She is shown as head of household. She died between 1861 and 1871, but can't find her on freebmd. Not sure if the parents to Frederick (ie Charles and Mary Ann) were separated at the time. Maybe John Gould is a son of the visitor?
The 1851 census looks like it is my family, but don't think that's mine in 1841 with Charles and Roseanne.

maybe he was a son of a first marriage for charles? he could not have been mary's son, as she would have been 17 when he was born. Hey, maybe that is it?? perhaps she was pregnant at an early age? wonder when she came across to england from scotland. i will do some more searching tomorrow. eyes burning. Thanks for all your help here. I really appreciate it.
Regards Jackie
