Hi im looking to find family of Patrick Fisher, born about 1827 in Monaghan, he was married to Catherine Smith, moved to Scotland Renfrewshire,they had a daughter Ann born about 1855,in Nitshill,Renfrewshire,Ann married Robert Mullen born 1853 in Bothwell Lanark, they married in 1879, any information to Patricks parents etc, would be very helpful many thanks, Rob

If Patrick died in Scotland, his death certificate should give you both parents names (one of the bonuses of Scottish certificates). Also, depending on when she was born, the daughter's Scottish birth certificate should note the date and place where the parents married, even if it was in Ireland.

Have you tracked any of the certificates down yet, if not I would suggest scotlandspeople website.

Hi yeah ive got anns birth, marriage and death certificates, her birth was in 1855 so its not a standard certificate but an entry in abook, just states father Patrick Fisher coal miners labourer, 38 years, Co. Monaghan Ireland, same for her mother but 36 years same county?

Can't understand about Ann's birth certificate, as she was born in 1855 and this was the 'magic' year for birth documents in Scotland as, for that year, they contained far more info than later years - see this link.


If Patrick, her father, continued to live in Scotland and died there, then his death certificate should give you details of his parents, which is what you have also requested.
