I have the following family: Father: William Menzies born circa 1839 at Bearn?, Stirlingshire Mother: Jean Hannah born 1846 at Denny, Stirlingshire
Children: Ann born 19 Jan 1869 @ Falkirk Jane born 12 Apr 1870 @ Falkirk Agnes born 11 Jun 1872 @ Falkirk married John Heeps born 1868 @ Blackbraes, Stirlingshire William born c1875 @ Falkirk Robert H born c1879 @ Falkirk Janet born c1884
In the 1891 census they were staying at St Andrews Place, High Pleasance, Falkirk.
I would like to know what happened to the family - if anyone has any information on them I would be grateful to receive it.

Hi Val
Thanks very much for providing this information.
William Menzies is a bit of a puzzle for me. I checked the 1901 census earlier today and it shows that he was born around 1838 at Falkirk. The mystery continues!!!

Hi, gave your problem some thought while on a therapeutic shopping trip. William and Jean appeared too be using the common naming pattern, therefor William's parents(assuming no children are missing) should be WILLIAM and JANE. Next look for a marriage in Stirlingshire, no joy. Thinking-cap and coffee required. Then it dawned, my own tree, Stirling-Denny- Cumbernauld then into Glasgow. I think/hope this might be who you are looking for although William is older than we thought.
WILLIAM MENZIES = JANET BAIRD 31st Mar 1830 Cumbernauld Dumbarton.
Children:- Margaret b 4th Feb 1831, ch 20th Mar
William b 21st July 1832, ch 12th Aug
Jean b 22nd Mar 1835, ch 19th Apr
Janet b 21st Dec 1836 ch 5th Feb 1837
All these children were born in Cumbernauld, then the family moved . Marion ch 10th Nov 1839 FALKIRK.
If William had lived in Falkirk from the age of about 6yrs it is likely that he thought he had been born there. As for the age difference we were always told that one of my Grandmothers married aged 17yrs, I now know she was 25.
If this is your family they have been lurking about a mile from my front door all this time.
Heres hoping Val
