Barnard, Sarah « on: Saturday 16 February 08 22:38 GMT (UK) »
Hello anyone who can help!
Does anyone know anything about Sarah Barnard? She was born in about 1791 (from the Cambridgeshire FHS online census for 1841), married James Beaumont in 1812 and died in August 1841.
I've had a lot of help already with James Beaumont from Keith Sherwood and Ericx - for which many thanks - but I'm just trying to kick start the research from another direction.
James and Sarah's children were Mary, Elizabeth, Barnard, Sarah, Thomas, another Mary, Susannah and Harriet, and there may have been others.
I'd very much like to find out about Sarah's ancestors (and James's as well). Is anybody out there researching these families, or can anyone suggest any likely lines of enquiry?

Just to add from the earlier thread that the 1812 marriage was at Ely Holy Trinity and one of the witnesses was a William Barnard, who might have Sarah's brother.
Age 50 in 1841 when ages over 15 were rounded down to the nearest 5 below would give a possible birth range of June 1786- May 1791. What age is given on her death certificate?
Have you checked the various Ely registers for baptisms of Sarah in this time frame, or for William? In 1851 there's a William Barnard age 58 born Ely living in Ely St Mary who might be the marriage witness.
The burial index 1801-37 on the Cambs FHS site shows a Thomas Barnard age 43 buried in 1801 at Ely Holy Trinity, the only Barnard in Ely of an age to have been a parent of Sarah, although he might be a red herring if both of her parents had died before 1801
