Hullo all, Does anyone have or could someone possibly take a photograph of these graves?
Pedestal tomb. Circa 1830-5. Sandstone ashlar. Moulded plinth, sunken panels, moulded cornice and concave capping to swagged urn-finial. To Moses (died 1835) and Edith (died 1838) Hamar and their 7 children (died 1811). Inscribed: "The above children of Moses and Edith Hamar/of Colestay in this Parish were all/carried off by a Putrid Fever with/ awful rapidity in the short space of/Three Weeks - a sad instance of the/ uncertainty of human life" ''
(They are my 4x great grandparents)
Also: Chest tomb. Circa 1830. Sandstone ashlar. Chamfered plinth, sunken panels (end-panels with large shallow recessed lozenges), rebated corners with quadrant angles and vase-shaped balusters as nook shafts, and cavetto moulding to plain top. To John (died 1830) and Ann (died 1858) Luther.
( These also are my 4x great grandparents! )
I would very much like to add them to my family tree if possible. Many thanks Mary
