Am looking for the marriage of John Rogers to a Rebbecca ? about 1834 to 1836.
John Rogers born about 1803 to 1806 in Hempton.
Rebbecca ? born about 1814 to 1816 in Crowell.
They lived with there family in Cromwell he was a shepherd and she was a lace maker

28 JAN 1835 - John ROGERS to Rebecca STYLES at Chinnor

(Chinnor is the adjacent parish to Crowell.)

Did your John Rogers have a brother, Henry who married Eliza Hayes, Chinnor about 1848?

Hello

I have been stuck for ages trying to find the parents of John so have been unable to find any siblings either.
On the census for1841 it says Johns age about 35, estimated birth 1806 but on the 1861 census says birth about 1804 born Oxford, parish Chinnor, Hundred Lewknor, Registration district Wycombe and Sub-registration district Princes Risborough.

John does have a son born Abt 1836 named Henry and in 1856 they have another son called Henry so I think the first one must have died.
I have found that most families carry certain family names through the generations.

Hope this bit of information may help you.

This might help. From a couple of Oxon FHS CDs of Chinnor & Crowell PRs -

Chinnor:

Born 7.11.1802 baptised 21.11.1802 John Rogers s/o William & Ann of Henton

Born 5.11.1827 baptised 18.1.1829 Henry Rogers s/o Thomas, lab & Rachel of Henton

I could only find 2 Styles/Stiles baptisms in Crowell:

8.10.1809 Phoebe d/o John & Mary (born 27.9.1809)
21.7.1817 Sarah d/o John, lab & Mary (born 15.6.1817)

it's possible they lived elsewhere between 1809 and 1817 - or perhaps didn't have their other children baptised?

Back in Chinnor:

Married 20 Aug 1848 Henry  X Rogers minor b labourer s/o Thomas Rogers, labourer  &
Eliza X Hayes sp lacemaker d/o William Hayes, shoemaker.
Witnesses: Henry Stevens, Caroline Stevens.
