Hi Sue and Ricky -
Got there too, and I'm not sure they are the same family - George 1839 Thornley and Mary have 4 boys in 1871, aged 10, 8, 5, and 3, all born Gilesgate Moor, not Willington.

Hi
Thank you for coming back to me. Looking at the 1881 census I thought I had the right George Maddison family as George was born in Thornley 3 miles from Sherburn Hill. Also didn't realise that Belmont was right next door to Gilesgate. Would you please let me have the "George 1839 Thornley" He must be the right one.
It's much appreciated.
