Hello, Can anyone help me with details of my Great X 2 Grandfather's birth or baptism. We thought he was born in Reading, Berkshire but someone has very kindly informed us that, in fact, the family originated from Oxfordshire.
His name was Sidney/Sydney Grubb. He was born c1819 to parents William and Hannah Grubb. He was one of 3 or 4 boys.

Are you sure his name was Sidney Grubb and not Charles Sidney or Sidney Charles?

I don't know if you have received the replies which Mum has sent through to you.  I left her in charge whilst I went to work but I can't find any trace of what she has written.  So just in case you haven't received them I would like to thank you so much for all your hardwork.  It is amazing what you have found out and the info you have given us is invaluable (especially the military part).  We are waiting for an estimate to come through from the National Archives.  We certainly could not have found out all this out by ourselves.
You are a gem.
