Worcestshire History Centre l/u for a baptism pls
« on: Tuesday 11 March 08 05:55 GMT (UK) »

Richard WILKS baptised 29 Dec. 1802 at St. Bartholomew's church, Grimley.

Can anyone help with a lookup for this baptism please? His parents were Joseph and Ann. And, if there is an index, would it be possible to see if his father, Joseph, was baptised there as well?

Hopefully,

Jamie

All the very best

Phil, that's fine.

If you have time, I wonder if you’d see if there are any other WILKS there who are connected to my Richard WILKS e.g. his father Joseph WILKS baptism for instance.

I’ve found these other Richard WILKES on the IGI and feel that there must be a connection with my Richard WILKS. However, I’m asking a lot, so, only if something leaps out at you.

RICHARD WILKES
Christening:
26 MAR 1632      Grimley, Worcester, England
Father:     RICHARD WILKES

ELIZABETH WILKS       Female

Christening:     06 OCT 1633      Grimley, Worcester, England
Father:     RICHARD WILKS

Thanks,

Jamie

Hi Jamie

I will check these out for you but a 170 year search is a very big ask as a look up & I'm not going to make any promises I cant keep.

I'd already paned to look for Richard's parents MAR at Grimley also for their BAPs as well as looking for any siblings Richard may have had.

All the very best

Phil

ps I have to admire your nerve though & if I have some spare time will see what I can do for you but dont bank on this as a definate

No, you can't possibly trawl through that many years. So don't worry. And don't worry about Richard's parents marriage as I do have that and it wasn't in Grimley, it was in Winchcombe, Gloucs. But, should you happen to notice any siblings of Richard's, that'd be great. I rather suspect he didn't have any – at least, I've not noticed any on the IGI.

Many thanks,

Jamie
