Marriage in 1811? St James, Poole
« on: Tuesday 19 February 08 13:17 GMT (UK) »

Hello

Does anyone know if there is any other information other than the names of the couple marrying and the date and place that can be found IF the marriage is available to look up in Parish records?

I would like to know if the couple's ages, occupations, father's names etc., would have been included in any parish registers?

Is it possible to look up marriages in the Dorset Records Office?  I know the actual date of the marriage.

Many thanks

Hi,

Parish registers can be searched, although it might be on film or fiche, at what is now known as the Dorset History Centre in Dorchester.

Some parish records are available on www.familyhistoryonline.net  not sure of the costs.
