I am looking for William Trigg I believe he was living in Newnham on the 1861 census, he would have been around 34 years old.

Hi,

I have looked through Newnham with a fine tooth comb and William Trigg is not living there on the 1861 census. Anywhere else I could check?

I have a Charlotte Trigg in my family b. 1798 in Churchdown who married Thomas Berry.

Regards,

Thanks for the look-up, I will give you every thing I know about William, he was born in Broadoak, Newnham parrish in 1826 to a Richard and Sarah(nee Cope) he is on the 1881 census as living in Newnham, married to a Sarah who was twenty years his junior and they had six children. On the 1871 census they were living in Awre, however William does not appear on this one, but Sarah is put down as a sailors wife, so I would guess he was at sea. This might explain why he is not on the 1861 census. He would not have been married to Sarah in 1861 as she would have only been 14, I wondered if he had been married before, this would be quite intresting as it would open up another family line we were not aware of. Sorry we cannot help with your Charlotte as we have not worked back that far, and as you  probally now there are so many Triggs in that area. Yours Rob. P.S we know William also had a brother Thomas born in 1829.
