St George's church E. Stonehouse is not in Gloucestershire it's in Devon. The two places are 120 miles apart.
Perhaps your record of the marriage is not correct - it certainly needs investigating to verify it doesn't it?
I was going to have a look through all my stuff but having found no Margaret West baptized in my comprehensive Stonehouse GLS records and her marriage in doubt, I'm afraid I'll have to give it a miss until you've researched in Devon and come back with updated info.
Regards
Chas

Hi Is there Stonehouse in Stroud GLS? Maybe this is where she was born? Cant find her birth records as I thought Devonshire was a bit far away. I was given this as her birth records Margeret West (o ?/?/1792 - ) x 24/3/1812 in Stonehouse, Plymouth, Devon. Found her spouse : HENRY BENNET - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 11 JUL 1790 Wotton Under Edge, Gloucester, England.
1841 census for Sinwell Wotton-under-Edge Henry Bennett aged 50 hairdresser born in GLS Margaret Bennett aged 45 not born in GLS William Bennett aged 15 born in GLS labourer John Bennett aged 9 born in GLS Maria Bennett aged 6 born in GLS Henry Bennett aged 3 born in GLS
Census states she was not born in GLS so it looks as though Devonshire is possibly her birth place.

Velcro,
If you go to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle you can search the IGI but only be given those data remaining as extracted entries found in the batches given against place names.
Interestingly, there's two Henry Bennett marriages given in Devon's E. Stonehouse (1811 & 1812): both data are extracted and give an, "About" date usually associated with submitted items. I dare say that Ann V. Chiswell, who transcribed the data from the marriage register of St George's could not decide for certain what was the exact date. The LDS use a double extraction procedure and the word "about" would not have been given had it been they who extracted the data. You should forget all about any connection with Devon.
Consider this, if your Henry was born in GLS in 1790 he would have been unlikely to have been married before 1811ish and although the LDS has filmed the Stonehouse register up to 1867, the extracted marriage entries only go up to 1812. It would therefore seem that the Stonehouse records post 1812 - shown on LDS film 856955 - might hold the answer to the puzzle and give Margaret's maiden name which, you M U S T assume, was not West.
Regards
Chas
P.S. Might be an idea to complete this request and open individual ones for each name you are interested in.
