Hi all,

A two fold request:
Firstly, does anybody here have connections with Daniel HERRAGE / Charlotte PUSEY mar 29 Dec 1838 West Wycombe and Daniel's father Thomas HERRIDGE / Sarah ING mar 23 Dec 1792 WW.

Everywhere I look it seems that everyone has drawn a blank with Thomas HERRIDGE bc 1768. I believe he could be Thomas bap 11 Feb 1767 Aldworth Berkshire son of Francis HERRIDGE / Sarah CRAY.

Therefore my second request; anyone going to the Bucks record Office could look up the Thomas HERRAGE / Sarah ING marriage and see if his father is shown.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I am not sure if this will be of any help - but here goes.  I am looking for the birth of a Martha Herrage about 1780 - she married into my family and her husband was born in 1774.

They married in Hurley and I also have not found any reference to her birth (or death for that matter). 

I have just been looking on Ancestry and someone has put a very vague family tree on there.  It lists a Martha being born in Hurst, Berkshire in 1774 and there is also a Thomas Herridge born in 1763.  This is just down the river from Hurley

Hi Peony,

I do have a Martha Herridge bap 4 Aug 1782 Hurst Berkshire daur of John Heddage and Jane Pidgeon in my tree with no further information.

Is this the marriage Martha Herage / John Goodal 8 Jan 1803 Hurley? If so then it is a possible fit.

All my immediate ancestors all come from the Cookham & Wokingham area and I do have others marrying in Hurley further down my line.

Hi,

Yes the dates for Martha fit and until I find another Martha Herage this one will do nicely.  I think I will have to try and get to see Hurley's actual PR's to check for any clues.

Quite a few of my ancestors were born in West Wycombe and then married or lived in Great Marlow.  I was wondering if the Thomas in West Wycombe was the same as the Thomas in Hurst?  Do you have any further marriages for your Hurst Herridge's?

Just wanted to make sure that you both know about this site for Hurst PRs:

There is a baptism for a Martha Herridge Aug 4 1782 d/o Thomas & Jane and I notice there's also one for a Martha Headage Aug 8 1773 d/o Jonathan & Sarah.

The 1763 Hurst baptism for Thomas appears to be:

Thomas Headage bp Apr 3 1763 s/o Thomas & Jane, so does it look likely that Herridge and Headage are versions of the same name?

Yes - I have quite a few ancestors in Hurst and nearby. So much so, that I even invested in Hurst PRs on CD from Berks FHS (despite the website!), so - as ever - if you want anything checking, just let me know.

I already have the link on my favourites and is very useful - TY.

Can I ask a big favour? Can you lookup the marriage of John Herridge and a Rosetta/Rose c1800 in Hurst.

I did find a burial for a Rose Herridge 8 May 1810 Hurst on my last visit to the BRO which seems to fit but couldn't find a marriage.

Sorry, Dick - I've checked the Hurst PRs and there's no sign of the marriage. Unfortunately, no further info given against Rose's burial in 1810 either.

However, I did notice one of those annoying IGI entries submitted by a member which has the marriage in 1800 in Wokingham - it might be worth checking the Wokingham PRs (if you can get to them!) to see if there's any truth to it!  Undecided
