I have Meredith Probert, married Ann Flook/Flock in 1846 in Crickhowell, . Censuses have his place of birth as Radnor and I have a record of his parents being Thomas Probert and Sarah (?), probably taken from the 1841 census but for some reason I haven't made a note of where I found this information and nor have I entered dates or places of birth for Thomas and Sarah. How dim of me!

Can anyone shed any more light on this family please? Or, better still, does anyone else have them in their family?

there are 2 possible deaths of thomas probert in presteigne
1845/jan qtr/presteigne/herefordshire,radnorshire/26/193.
1849/july qtr/presteigne/herefordshire,radnorshire/26/233.

Thank you, that was very speedy. Now to find out Sarah's maiden name! I have just realised that I have posted this in the wrong section, so may put a new querey up in the general Radnor section.

There doesn't seem to be an IGI birth entry for him. Some of Meredith's siblings are listed but others not. And no marriage record for Samuel to Sarah. How frustrating.

I started the thread and I am still here!!!!!
Meredith Probert is not as far as I am aware one of the Colva Proberts. The Proberts are my main line and he does not feature although the Proberts did marry into the Meredith family several times - perhaps that was the maiden name of his wife.
Looking at the name of the place where it suggested that he was born (transcribed Hovey) may be it is Howey near Disserth/Llandrindod Wells?
