Mary Jane Brewer with Gwendoline

Witheridge Parish Records - BREWER

Could anybody look up the christening of any children born to John and Mary Brewer from 1805 in the Witheridge Parish Records.

Also I have found the marriage details for the above John and Mary on the IGI records, (17th February 1805, Witheridge) but there are two entries giving Mary's surname as Wadden or Crook. Could someone find which one is correct, please?

apparently Witheridge baptisms from 1585 to 1837 are included in the IGI (batch number C052161 per freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/igibatchnumbers.htm)

The IGI doesn't include any obvious baptisms that fit with the family you mention.

Hi

I have looked on IGI and cannot find a Mary Waddon...I have however found 2 Mary Crookes

* Mary Crooke 7 may 1779 Witheridge, Mother Mildred Crooke
* Mary Crooke 6 May 1781 Witheridge parents; george Crooke and Mary

the first one interests me as I found a Baptism Of a Mildred Brewer d/o John Brewer and Mary in 1801 , Witheridge ... too early for your marriage of John Brewer and Mary in 1805 ...but the name Mildrid came up twice...

Also Mary Crooke b 1779 seems to have been illegitimate ...maybe her dad was Mr Waddon Undecided

, but did not marry her mother.

Thank you for that information Deb. That is very interesting and you are quite right, John and Mary Brewer did have a daughter called Mildred. It has given me something to work on.

The information I have found on the IGI records is that they had 3 definite children -
Mildred born in 1811
Joanna born in 1821
John born in 1824

As there is such a large gap between Mildred and Joanna, I thought there may have been others in between.
