POLLOCK in Edinburgh in 1700's

I am looking for info on the birth of Philip POLLOCK (occ Dyer). He was married on 6 November 1785 in Edinburgh Paris to Janet GALLOWAY. She was bapt New Grey Friar's Parish, Alloa in June/July 1758.

 Lips Sealed  Sorry I cannot help you with Phillip's birth but I think I may be related to his son David Pollock born in 1791.  Would you know if yours [David that is] married Elizabeth Thomson in 1822?  They had children Mary, Janet,David and possibly Thomas b 1835 as unnamed.

This may be of help to you too.
General Post Office Directory for Edinburgh 1808/9: These were the only Pollocks listed.
Pollock, David dyer, Horse Wynd
Pollock, John Esq W S 8 Elder Street, House 2 James Sq
Pollock, Lady 5 South Charlotte Street
Pollock, Mrs 8 South Bridge

I havent found a death for the David Pollock who married Elizabeth Thomson.  He died before the 1851 census and Elizabeth died prior to 1854.

Sorry I can't add anything. The only child of Philip and Janrt that I know of is Mary born Oct 1893.

Thanks for your info If you have anything more on Philip & Janets children I would be glad to have it.

I found this on the IGI.  David Pollock birth 17 Nov 1791 Glencorse, Edinburgh, Midlothian Scotland, Parents Phillip Pollock and Janet Galloway.  The record was submitted after 1991.
I will see what more I can find out.

 Wink  Hi Sarah, I have found more children for Phillip & Janet in the IGI fiche for Edinburgh at my GSQ.  Peter Pollock c 23/7/1786; Mary Pollock c 14/10/1793 and Christian c 7/11/1789.  All christened at Glencorse.  I hope this helps.
