Hi Guys,
I had a great uncle named Alexander Allan who died on the 27th March 1943 at Hamburg State Sanitorium Philadelphia, allegedly he was buried at Northwood Cemetery. Is there anyone who would be able to check at this boneyard? I have cousins who were told that he was interned alongside an Albert C Seifert (1927) and an Oscar Sannis (1955). Only the name of Albert C Seifert is on the headstone. Is there a chance that there may have been a clerical error and that he is buried in another lair? I can find no trace of his wife Helen after 1943. Is there someone out there that can help me please?
Best Regards,
Swally

Swally,
Have you posted on www.raogk.org? I bet there is someone there who can help. Have you ever contacted the cemetery itself to find out if he is buried there? Let me know and I will be happy to give them a call to check, from here in the states.

KATH,
Thanks for the speedy speedy reply. My second cousins visited the boneyard in person and were told that is where he lies...............I'm not convinced. I think that there may be a clerical error, why would 3 guys who as far as I know are not related be planted in the same grave? I don't know if they searched the graveyard to see if he had his own headstone or not, or if they looked for his second wife named either Helen or Ella (Allan).
Surely she would have been buried with him after her death?
I would have thought that when Alexander died they would have had the fore thought to think? "Mmmm what happens when I die? is there enough room in the plot for me to be buried there also?"
If you could ring the Boneyard for me I would be greatly obliged, I'm in Scotland so it isn't so easy.........the accent throws you Americans all over the place.
Thanks in advance,
Swally

Swally,
It is at the top of my list this week. I have been so swamped with my son's Odyssey of the Mind team these past few weeks, on top of work and life, I've mostly been on the computer and doing any of this stuff before 7 am. No that we are done (which means we lost ), I will be more available. I will get back to you by Tuesday morning with the info. I promise I didn't forget, have a posty on the edge of my computer, driving hubby crazy.
