Henry Whyt - Dean of Brechin
« on: Sunday 24 February 08 12:33 UTC (UK) »

Any information on Henry Whyt (Whyte/White/Whit/Quhyte/Quhyt etc), Dean of Brechin, died 1541, gratefully received.

I’d be very interested to hear from anyone who has information which links Henry to the Whyte families of Banathill/Easter and Wester Balgedie all parish of Portmoak, Kinross, Lumbany, possibly parish of Portmoak and the Whyte families of Kirkcaldy/Dysart, Fife.

Would be interested in exchanging information with anyone researching families of Dysart/Kirkcaldy/Wemyss. My main interest is in the parish of Dysart families, particularly pre 1720. Many of the men seem to have been shoemakers (cordiners). Would be interested in any information which connects the Whyte families of this era in Dysart with those in the parishes of Abbotshall/Kirkcaldy/Wemyss.

Thanks,
