Hi Angie

This looks a possible birth entry:

MARGARET BRYDAN  Birth: 26 FEB 1856      Old Cumnock, Ayr, Scotland
Parents: WILLIAM BRYDAN and CATHARINE BOSWELL MCCRIRICK

I wonder if McCririck is a deviation off Hettrick.

Regards.

Hi I've got multiple links with the Bryden clan
Two Margaret Bryden, one born  31/05/1825 in Dailly, Ayrshire and died 1895 Old Cumnock
The other born 1790 baptised 30/12/1790 in Dailly and died 1868 in Dailly
Does this fit in anywhere?   Dof

Hi Dof, Looking for a Margaret Bryden born about 1856 possibly illegitimate. She is seen as the grand-daughter of John Hettrick and Jane (Jean) nee Brown, in 1861 Old Cumnock area census but then disappears. Huh

A bit off topic, but I have a Mary Bryden Moffat born 1838, New Cumnock.   Parents John Moffat and Margaret Bone.  I have the family pretty well documented as far as BDMs and census returns, but can't work out where the "Bryden" came from.   Do any Bryden researchers out there know of any connection with Moffats or Bones?   Could be just a family friend.

Hello Angie B.

I dont know if this helps but there is a birth for a Margaret Hatrick, 20/April/1855. Old Cumnock, Ayr, mother Margaret Hatrick. no father.

The Name Hatrick, could well be another Version of Hettrick, and as its a 1855, certificate may well have additional information that may help.

Regards,
Jonn.
