Hi Friends
Yes its Trees on another pub crawl  Grin
Can anyone tell me anything about "The Red Lion"  Yarnton or the Soden family who kept it for a time. I believe they were formostly blacksmiths

   In 1851 they have another child called Peter age 10. James is still a blacksmith.
   There are also others living with them

Hi Jamajo Yes thats them George Wagstaff is mentioned as shopkeeper vict. red Lion in Harrod's directory 1876 he married Sarah SODEN Peter kept the Black Horse Kidlington 1871 he was also Blacksmith at the same time Believe it or not I'm on the hunt of my Blacksmiths this time so these two new pubs are a surprise
Tomy 55 Oh I wish Wonder if I can use that photo on my web many thanks for that. Their apprentice in 1851 was from cassington although he is listed as Yarnton so that all fits well I've got Greens in Cassington but can't link this William in he seems to be the son of William and Sophia

Does anyone know anything about the pub history tony55's seems very modern I wonder if it is on the site of an older house. Its a bit to far for me to comute from   Grin
