What are "bat details" which you say I gave you? He was a cordwainer not a cricketer

David

PS I've rechecked the transcript and you got what is there "Samuel Thomas". I'm just the messenger. It's up to you to do the interpretation

Sorry David, it should have read, on the details that you gave me....also I didn't mean it to sound like I was criticizing you at all  Shocked, just checking that it wasn't a typo error...!

Should have known it was right as he seems to have several names..On cert he is down as Simon Thomas Mills occ Shoemaker?
Thanks for info and help both, back to the elusive Robert Mills now.. Wink

Hi Bagsey

This is the closest I can see

Robert Mills 30 Tailor  J  Born in county

Living at Main Street, Downham, Cambridgeshire

H0107/ 77/ 2
folio 8
page 11

Also in Downham Union Workhouse, is this bunch of kids
William Mills 10   born in county
Thomas  "     8            "
Charlotte  "  7             "
Edward    "   3            "

H0107/ 754/ 10
folio 40
page 4

I wonder if Roberts wife died, and as he was a tailor journeyman, he put the kids in the district union workhouse Huh
