I am tracing the Allanby Family from Flimby, Maryport, and surrounding areas.
John William ALLANBY was born 1796 the son of John ALLANBY and Jane SMEATON. John William married Elizabeth CUMMING possibly in IRELAND about 1822 and left for Australia in 1824. I have details on most of the family in Australia but am trying to find more information on the family in England and always looking for descendants of the rest of the family.

The information I have on the English side of the family is:
William ALLANBY and his wife, Frances, had John and Ann.
Ann married Richard WATT 1723 in Flimby. No other info on this family other than some descendants ended up in America.

John ALLANBY born circa 1700 married Jane (Surname unknown) abt 1732 their children were:
William, Francy or Frances, Mary, Grace, Christopher, John, Jane, Thomas, Phillip, John, Margaret and Christopher Gibson.

William married Anne STEWART three known children
Frances married John PEILE, no known children
Mary married John BOWNESS. nine children and many descendants, I have contacts with cousins on this line
Grace married William FALCON one child who died as an infant.
Christopher, John, Jane and Thomas died as infants
Phillip died 1776 no marriage or children known
John married Jane SMEATON Family details to follow
Margaret died 1833 no known marriage or children
Christopher Gibson married Mary HODGSON and had four children.

John ALLANBY and Jane SMEATON married circa 1789
Christopher Gibson, Barbara, John William, Jane, Margaret and Joseph Stamper

Christopher Gibson no known marriage or children
Barbara married John WALKER no known children
John William married Elizabeth CUMMING 11 children all born in Tasmania, Australia. Details known on most descendants of this line.
Jane no known marriage or children
Margaret married Thomas WALKER, 10 children known
Joseph Stamper married Alice WILLIAMSON. 3 known children but as there is 20 years between first and last there is possibilities that there were more. Joseph was a doctor.

The family was known to be living in Allanby House in Flimby during early 1800's but may have moved from the area after the 1830's. With the exception of Louis Allanby son of Joseph Stamper Allanby I have been unable to find any confirmed members of the family in any Census.

Would love to make contact with any relatives.
