Suz beat me to it!  Cry

The James Avery baptised in Brightwalton in 1782 had lots of siblings (all on the IGI) including a Joseph:-

1784 William
1786 Joseph
1789 Martha
1792 John
1794 Mary died 1795
1796 Sarah
1799 Matthew died 1799

Is that the Joseph you were looking for?

IGI also has the parents' marriage:

6 Jan 1782 Aldworth (a couple of miles from Brightwalton)
Edward Avery & Sarah Coaling

Your James Avery appears to have married Martha Farmer 17 Oct 1803 in East Challow (IGI & again, a few miles from Brightwalton).

I can't find Kezia's baptism.

Jill

She's beaten me again, but --- it, I'm going to post it!!

Hi Jill,
Go, Girl, go!!!!

Tinkerbell -where did you get Joseph's d.o.b. from?

I can't find a Joseph b. -or christened that year

The only Joseph  I can find on early census (married Mary) gives his age as to fit in with Joseph -c. 1786

Suz & Jill,
Thank you both.....that will keep me going for a while & fill in a few GAPS....the Joseph Avery I have I have born 1791 I don't really know where I got that from he is married to a Mary !!!! with dau Caroline Avery b1829 she married into the Sprules family.

I actually wanted to know if James & Joseph were related ...but I think now they were brothers.

Thank you both from a 38deg hot week from Australia.

So by his age in 1861 it looks like he could  be the brother of James
