Hi,
I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter family and am looking for information please about the parents and siblings of Samuel John Rossiter baptised on May 8th 1831 at Tarrant Rushton.
Any information would be greatly appreciated please. TIA.

Hi Sue,
Thanks for that.
Unfortunately, I have that Samuel already but he is a Samuel James not a Samuel John.
Are there any others please?
Best wishes

Hi rcuser,
Have you check www.dorset-opc.com ? That site shows the baptism of Samuel John Rossiter on 8 May 1831, at Tarrant Rushton, but with parents James and Martha.

Hi,
There seems to have been another Samuel John Rossiter, baptised on 16 January 1834, to James and Martha. Found on www.dorset-opc.com

Hi Nanny Jan,
Thanks for that
I think the first of your post is the person I am looking for. The second post complicates things in that I am unclear if there are one or two Samuel Johns.
Was hoping that a census lookup would clarify things.
Best wishes

Possible marriage of James & Martha:
19 May 1829 James Rossiter, Shillingstone and Martha Ford, Shillingstone by Licence. Witnesses: Mary Ford, John Ford, Anne Davies.
Again on Dorset OPC site.

Hi Nanny Jan,
Thanks for that.
How did you manage to get the info as the site search is disabled?
Sorry, tried to post this earlier but my post failed and I've had to repost it.
Best wishes

Hi rcuser,
At the moment you can't search by name on the Dorset opc site but you can click on the parish name, which takes you to the "home page" for that parish. There you can see what information is available for that parish; it varies from parish to parish...........various census details/baptisms/marriages/burials/trade directories/maps etc.
As it is a volunteer site new information is gradually added, so it is worth checking every 3 months or so.
