As I just mentioned in your other post we do need dates in order to say what records might be available.

I agree that dates or any other details would help, especially with a common surname and common first names like John and William.
I did find this in 1910: Portland Ward 10, Oregon Shaw, Farquhar T., age 43, married once, married for 10 years, born Scotland, parents born Scotland, occupation: street car conductor, able to read & write, owns home with a mortgage Shaw, Earnestton, wife, age 32, married once, married for 10 years, mother of one child, not living, born Iowa, father born Pennsylvania, mother born Missouri, no occupation, able to read & write
1920 Census, Portland, District 154, Oregon Shaw, Farquhar, owned home free of a mortgage, male, white, age 53, married, immigrated 1890, naturalized 1896, born Scotland, parents born Scotland, street car conductor Shaw, Earnesteen, wife, female, white, age 42, married, born Iowa, parents born Iowa, no occupation
1930 Census, Portland, District 485, Oregon, 51 Albert Street Shaw, Farquhar T., owned home worth $5000, owned radio set, not on a farm, male, white, age 63, married, age at first marriage: 33, able to read and write, born Scotland, parents born Scotland, immigrated 1890, naturalized, street car conductor, not a veteran Shaw, Earnesteen, wife, female, white, age 52, married, age at first marriage: 22, born Oregon, father born Pennsylvania, mother born Colorado, bookeeper for a store

Hi...
1900 US census, North Powder, Union, Oregon SHAW William, 47, Head Hannah, 47, wife John 22, son William, 22, son Robert, 18, son Fasquashal (sic) 13, son Ellen, 10, dtr Mary, 7, dtr. The family are listed as Farmers. All but Mary, age 7, were born in Scotland. She was born in Oregon.
Sadly, the majority of the 1890 US census has been destroyed.

and in the same household Fugot(sp), Jennett, niece, age 20, single, born Colorado

1930 US census North Powder, Union, Oregon SHAW John, age 72, b Scotland, to USA in 1870, farmer Lyda, age 65, b Indiana and right next door
