Town/village Merrselbury

Can anyone help with location of Merrselbury, what county. it was quoted as place of birth in 1861 English census. I am at a loss how to progress to research for ancestor.

Hi,

Could it be Musselburgh,which was in Midlothian at that time, now part of East Lothian.
