I have had a reply from Limerick City Council re my query thought I would post so anyone else wanting to know  - as follows
Most Limerick addresses are quite simple - there'd be a house and street number such as ' 10 Thomas Street'.
Some, mostly surburban, addresses might have a second line which would usually relate to general area of the city, for example, '10 Quarry Road,Thomondgate', Thomondgate' being an area of the northside of the city.On the listing as I designed it 'Thomongate' would be under the 'Address 2' column in this example, meaning address line number 2.
Hope this helps someone else sometime
