Can anyone try and do this lookup for Annie Hitch b.1882 Ely, Cambridgeshire.  I cant seem to locate her at all.

Have you got her in 1901, or had she married by then? Who were her parents?

There is a 9 yr old CHRISTINA Hitch in Ely in the 1891 census living at 48 Station Road with parents
father : Charles aged 47 a horsekeeper,
mother : Mary A. aged 44
and one other daughter Elizabeth aged 14

any link ?

No obvious sign of her, do you know her parents names?  Maybe misspelled and they could help trace it. Father's occupation too could help.

Yes i have her on the 1901 census married to William Quinn, they were married in 1899, Newmarket but apart from that i have not got much else on her.

Odd. I can't see her birth registration either on FreeBMD

The Christina in 1891 was registered as CHRISTIANA in Sept 1/4 1881, which is more likely to be shortened to Anna or Annie

Hi all
I know this is very strange.  She is on the 1901 census with William and i have located their marriage on free bmd buts thats all, like you say it probably needs a certificate to find out.

Why on earth should the husband and children be indexed as Hikh, yet the wife, whose surname is ditto, be correc tly indexed as Hitch?

I wonder if Rev would like the earlier census for this family we could do them between us, I am due to take eldest to cricket in 10 mins but happy to do when I come home
