Hi Noreen
Have you got Andrew Ashcroft in the 1871 census?
If he died 1879 he will be buried more than likely in St Mary's Churchyard, where he and Sarah got married. Or he is in Flaybrick Cemetery. Let me know the date of death and I will look it up for you.

Hi Noreen
I have checked today, St Mary's church and Flaybrick both C of E and N C and he is not buried there. There is a Catholic section in Flaybrick. Otherwise its further a field.
My mistake about the 71 census. I didnt go back far enough

With the address given I think that he would be buried in Bebington cemetery. That opened in 1868. ALot of people from Tranmere where buried there. There are another 2 possibilities a churchyard in New Ferry and Christchurch in Bebington.
I'll have a look later in the week when the library opens.

Hi Noreen
Here are the details for Mary in 1881. I went through my discs looking for the address.
Transcribed under Oscroft.
