Does anyone have any information on the above pub was around in 1850 owned by Robert Liddle - looking to see if it still exists or full address. Robert Liddle is listed as being a brewer in 1851 census.
The Mill House Inn, Southwick, stood next to seven miners' homes called the 'Halfway House' which were midway between the villages of Monkwearmouth and Southwick. Consequently it was renamed "The Halfway House" at sometime after WW1. It still exists and the address is 133 Southwick Road, Sunderland, SR5 1SP I can send you a PM photograph of it if you want
