Hi all
  Does any one know if its possible to get birth at sea records free .

I  have found one on the Find my past web site i would like to look at but dont wont to pay £6 00 just to see if it doesnt fit my man  At the last resort i will but all ways seem to waste my credits on that site and only remember when they are run out off time.

I'm not sure how it works with at sea records or on find my past but if I'm not sure if a record is my person I will always email the local record office and ask if person X has so and so for mother/father/occupation etc.  The local recird offices are always very helpful, confirming or not the details I have given.

However, this will only work if you already have sufficient information already.

hi casalguidi
many people helped me before  to look for a Walter james Eves born 1864 [he says strood ] who is on the 1891/1901 census.
As only one walter james is listed being born there in 1863 i sent for hes birth certifacate but he had the wrong father and have chased this walter who dies very young [medway city ark] 
As i know my walters father was john sea captain i found this one on find my past and was hoping against hope it could be him
any more thoughts would be great help
