Can someone pls lookup following Johnson family in '41 & '51 if possible:
William head b.
Margaret wife b.
Robert b.1826 Tarleton/Hesketh
Thomas b.1829 ditto
Also:
Christopher Sumner b?? in Tarleton
Nanny wife b.1814 Tarleton (dau of William/Margaret above). Married 1833 in Tarleton so kids??

Just noticed that on the 1841 there is an entry above Magret for a Willm Johnson age 75 Agric Lab b Lancs
Aaah, Heywood, was waiting to be impressed there cos I couldn't find them and thought you were on a roll

Well, if he was a boatman we could be on a hiding to nothing - they can be very difficult to find if they all live on the boat - seems odd.

Witnesses to Sumner/Johnson marriage in '33 were a Richard Sumner and Esther Mayor if that helps?
Any luck with the Johnson brothers in '51? Poss marr of Thomas to Sarah Watkinson in Tarleton in '47

On the 1851 there is a Robert Johnson age recorded as NK(not known) but with 30 written in above born Tarleton and living in Gorse Lane Tarleton Farm servant in the household of Richard Taylor and family. Richard is a farmer of 52 acres.
This must be Robert, I should think

Are you happy that this Thomas is your man?
Onthe 1841 there are 2 Thomas Johnson's in Tarleton
One is Thomas Johnson born 1829 with mother Magret and sibling Robert.
The other is Thomas Johnson born 1827 with parents William and Charlotte.
I am a little worried that we may be following the incorrect Thomas. The Thomas we are not following has children named Ann and Richard which is disconcerting me

Back to it after food.
The parents are William and Margaret, not Charlotte. I saw the Wm/Char combination on lancs-opc site but they are NOT the family I'm interested in. Wm/Mar are my 4th g grandparents through their son Wm who was born in 1820 (I have poss details for him in '41 - living with a farmer in Back Lane, Hesketh).
Ann and Richard are not names that follow through the Johnson generations, although there are a couple of them. Margaret, William, John, Thomas, Alice, Elizabeth are far more common down the lines.
The poss marr of Thomas to Sarah Watkinson - groom's father was William, labourer - could be husband of Charlotte
The correct Thomas was baptised July 1829 - leads me to think that it was NOT him who married Sarah. So Thomas in Croston in '51 is probably the correct one. I have has a personal message which shows his sister Nanny (Ann) in Croston in '41 with I believe to be her b-i-law Richard Sumner. Does that tie in with Thomas being in Croston in '51 )
