Hi Steve,

Sorry there are no Crosbies at Stichill. There is one at Greenlaw and one older one at Eccles not too far a push from Stichill. Do you have these or would you like them?

Terry

Would you mind looking for the surname of Weatherstone at Stichill please?

I doubt there is anything much later than 1870 or so as the names in the tree concerned seem to stop in the 1860's.

Thanks

Hi Glen

There are a couple of older Watherston's in Hume but nothing in Stichill. Do you want the Hume ones?

Hi Glen,

HUME

Here lies Jean Watherston spouse to Archibald Smith tenant in Hume Blacklands? 2.3.1799 said Archibald Smith died (Jan)? 1768(?) aged 65.

Symbolic stone: Skull and initials IW and BT  John Watherston tenant in Hume died 21.4.1769 aged 69 years(?) Alexander Watterston late tenant Grodick died 9.12.1793 aged 71 years.

There is a family of Watherstones on a grave in Westruther Churchyard all dying earlyish 1800's . There are also 9 Gravestones in Greenlaw for Weatherstones (didn't look to see how old they were) Are these out of your area of research. Strangley enough my OH's 4g grandmother was Mary Weatherston/Watherston, have to admit to not going any further back yet. She married John Ramsey and I have two known children for them 1st one born what looked like Clevelaw? and the next one Westruther.
You may have them but if not let me know if you want any of the Weatherstone MI'S in Berwickshire.

Many thanks Terry

I have to be honest and say it isn't for my tree but for someone on another site, she asked me to get some photographs of Stichill church a month or two ago and have a look for the name. By chance she is in the right part of the Yorkshire to help with part of my tree so it works quite well.

When  i noticed your post i thought it worth asking.

I will pass on the details you have posted and check some names, dates and areas with her.

Thanks again

Glen
