Thanks greatly, Terry. I'll keep these Kirkcolm ones around while I try to pursue the McCubbin line further... On the ones you sent before - I explored the connection with Jane Blain who married James Bennoch, farmer in Sheuchan. Indeed she was the sister of the William Blain who is my (probable) great-great-grandfather - they being children of James Blain and Marey McKibbon, at Dalhabboch in Inch!
One more name for Inch - Maxwell. Mary Maxwell and William Blain were married in 1812, and I've no leads on who she was.

Hi Terry, Would you take a quick look for a McMillan family? If there is a David McMillan, d. Dec 1856, wife Margaret who predeceased him between 1851 and 1856, they'd be mine. David was a mason born about 1764.

Any chance you could look at the MI's for any Kennedy's, McKillops. my G-Grandfather was born in Inch.
