Dunlichity churchyard
« on: Sunday 02 March 08 17:29 GMT (UK) »

I have a photo of a headstone in Dunlichity churchyard taken a few years ago. It is in memory of Malcolm Mackintosh who died in 1920 and his wife Isabella Shaw died in 1938, both of Duneside, Daviot and also their son John who died in 1985. There were several smaller headstones alongside but were too badly eroded to read the inscriptions. Is there any way I can find out who they belong to as I feel they may be close family relatives?

Hi Alexena

I've got a book of pre-1855 monumental inscriptions that includes Dunlichity. I'd be happy to do a few look ups for you.

Best wishes

Hi Lynn,

Thanks for your helpful offer. My records just go back as far as Malcolm's father - William Mackintosh who was married to Elisabeth McPherson 29th July 1841. I don't have any deaths prior to 1855. I understand some of Malcolm and Isabella's children died in infancy and I thought perhaps the headstones were theirs. Isabella's parents were Donald Shaw and Christine McGillivray. Let me know if you find any Mackintosh's.
