Hi List
George Alden & Eleanor Tocock (b 1817 Eversley) were married 1837 in Reading, Searches so far have failed to trace their movements until they appear in Forest of Dean 1856 with there children,George,William,James,Henry,Alfred ,Thomas & Stephen. I am trying to find where they were between 1837-56 - has anyone any leads
please.

I don't know if you have the entry from the 1871 Census :-
It shows George being born in Alton in Hampshire and his wife Ellener ( sic) as being born in Hartley in Hampshire

It does give the place of birth of Thomas, as Sommerton in Oxfordshire,
Alfred as Trowbridge, in Glos and Stephen as Sewdley ( Lewdley) ( not sure which is totally correct) in Glos. no sign of any of the other children you mentioned but there is a Walter aged 2 Grandson.
