The Pallot Index on Ancestry is ambiguous - the William Langford index card shows 11 Oct 1816 at St Andrew the Great Cambridge, whereas that for Ann Maria Boardman shows 11 Oct 1818. I cannot see any other names on these cards.
Phillimore's marriage index shows 11 Oct 1818 at St Andrew the Great, both of this parish
Having established where they were married we can start looking for baptisms.
You don't say if you have found William in any census.
In 1841 he was aged 41 born Cambs living in St Andrew the Less, but I can't see him in 1851. Have you found him, or had he died?

I suspect that William had died before 1851 (there's a death on FreeBMD in June 1842 in Cambridge registration district) as who appears to be his widow Ann 47 was living in St Andrew the Less with children Harriet 24, Esther 17 and Alfred 8. The children were all born in Cambridge, but Ann's birthplace was Liverpool, notwithstanding that she gave her county of birth as Cambs in 1841.
You can check baptisms of their various children on the Baptism Index 1801-37 on the Cambs FHS website at http://www.cfhs.org.uk/Search.html
None of this helps to find William's baptism though. Unfortunately if his age of 41 in 1841 is accurate then he was born in 1799/1800, ie before the Baptism Index starts. And equally unfortunately neither St Andrew the Great nor Less are on the IGI or BVRI.
You need someone with access to the transcripts to see if there's a William Langford baptised at the end of the 1700s.

Hi Margaret
The only baptism c 1800 in Cambridgeshire on familyhistoryonline is at Holy Trinity, Ely - William Langford father John mother Mary 27th January 1801 (just to eliminate it!)

You can see both of Pallot's index cards on Ancestry. One is definitely 1816, the other looks more like 1818. However Phillimore's marriage index which is in chronological order as in the parish register shows 1818, which I am certain is the correct year

Hi Margaret
If he was baptised in 1819 at St Andrew the Great C.F.H.S baptism index gives parents as William and Ann M. Langford
The index gives no other information for this baptism such as address or age, It would appear from this index that there is additional information on the register.

Why didn't you give that information in your original post? It would have saved an awful lot of wasted time!

No problem Margaret, I am a relative newcomer to this site as well and still learning. We all have our chances to help someone somehow on here. Where are your Gotobeds? I have Joseph William bn Waterbeach pass through my family - he was married to Annie Eliza Crisp but died without having a family after 16 years. It's such a lovely name!
Happy Hunting Rosie
