Baptism of Eleanor Elizabeth MAZZIE 1900 - Watford

Hi,

There is the birth of an Eleanor Elizabeth Mazzie in Watford in the March qtr of 1900.

I don't think that this is my ancestor and i think her name has been mis-transcribed, but before I order the birth, I was wondering if anybody would have access to baptisms in Watford of that time to see who her parents were.

I can't find her in the 1901 census, and the only family that she could have belonged to is that of the Bristol Mazzie's (George Edward Mazzie and Mary Jane Mazzie nee Irvin), who I know travelled to Swindon and Leicester before returning to Bristol in about 1903.

She is not with them in the 1901 census, and there are no deaths registered for an Eleanor Elizabeth before 1901.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

The Watford in the indexes will be the Registraton district of Watford, which will contain many parishes - in this case 18

so it will not be an easy task for anyone

I'm not sure if this is the correct family but there is a Frederick W Magey with wife Elizabeth E & daughter Ellen E aged 1 in Rickmansworth on the 1901.

RG13 P 1321 Fo 55 P 22.

From Free BMD there are other births registered in Watford for MAZEY & a marriage in Dec qtr 1899 Watford for a Frederick Walter MAZEY & Elizabeth E Woollams.

I think you could be right about the name of Eleanor Elizabeth being mis-spelt on the register, they sound as if they could be all the same family.  Huh

I think you could be right.

I know George Edward Mazzei had a daughter born in the June qtr of 1899 - and this Eleanor is registered in the March qtr of 1900 so could have been tight (but not impossible).
