This is a little confusing
The only birth reg I can find (that's not to say there isn't another) is Herbert Richard Roser Sept qtr 1872 Maidstone Kent
Which would make him (if he is this herbert) about 51 when daughter was born
Then there is a marriage Dec qtr 1919 Herbert C Roser Eva E White Dec qtr 1919 Halifax 9a 1187
would this be the marriage? ?

I have found the birth reg of daughter
there is also a birth reg of Harold D Roser mother's maiden name White Dec qtr 1920 Wycombe 3a 1743
I can't find any other Roser/White births 1919-1923 - are they the same family ? or is there another Roser married White?

Hi Suz
Many thanks for your time and help re Herbert Richard Roser, I have now been given some further info re Herbert in that he was a leading aircraftsman in the RAF his service number is 130225, I offered to help a friend find his roots but have come up against the proverbial brickwall already. On the birth cert it states as follows, 6th April 1923, Wingrave RD, Elsie Jean, girl, Herbert Richard Roser father , Elsie Eva roser formerly White, Elsie Eva Roser. mother, Wingrave, Reg on he 1st may 1923. Does this tally with what you found ? as I could not find Elsie's birth, I don't know where I might have gone wrong in my search.
The marriage is quite plausible date wise and so is the birth in wycombe, perhaps Herbert got wed late in life.
Thankyou once more and if you can come up with any more info I would be very grateful . Regards
Tom.

I have found a Herbert Roser on 1891 census - wrong age to be the one b 1872 -but b. same area and with a military connection Army Service Corps Aldershot
herbert Roser 28 Solier AS Corp b. maidstne kent RG12 566 19 33
As you have his service no it may be a good idea to put a post on the Armed Forces section - there are some very experienced researchers
I think the marriage record found is a possibility -the middle initial could easily have been mistranscribed maybe Elisie was Eva Elsie and used her middle name ? It may be worth sending for the certificate after other avenues have been explored.
There are quite a few Eva / Elsie White (combination) birth regs.
Maybe Herbert did marry late in life after his carreer in the Armed services -or maybe it was his second marriage
The other problem is Roser is so mistranscribed - I can't find the herbert Richard 1872 Maidstone on the census

Hi Suz
Thanks for the info on the armed forces group I forgot about that.
When you say that roser has been mistranscribed, may I ask in what respect, as I did a search for rosa and there were very few of that name so I'm wondering what other ways of spelling the name, that I can look for.
Regards
Tom.

These messages gave me some hope- I am looking for my family in the UK. My Grt Grt grandparents William Roser & his wife Diana(h) nee Wilson, came to Western Australia with their children to that stage of their marriage, Lucy, Fanny, Mary Ann, Elizabeth on the "Simon Taylor" in 1842. They travelled but their children where mostly born in Kent. Their 12 year old son John who is listed with them on the 1841 Census at East Ginstead Common, did not come to W.A. and I can only assume that he died. I did find a Jacques Rosaire arriving with the Huguenots- Roser
