Hello:
I've been trying to trace our 3Great-grandmother, Mary Hodder. My last sighting of her was in the 1861 census, when she resided with her daughter Margaret's family in the Barnet Registration District. By 1871, the daughter and her family had moved on to Winchester, and Mary Hodder was no longer with the family.
There is a Mary Frances Hodder listed at FreeBMD, as dying at Barnet, at the age of 82, in the 2nd Q 1876. This would be the right age for "our" Mary Hodder. If this turns out to be the Mary Hodder that I'm looking for, she may have been a resident in the workhouse prior to her death.
Could someone look in the 1871 census, please, to see if there is a Mary Hodder in Barnet Registration District? She was born c1794 in county Mayo, Ireland, and was a pensioner's widow.

Not a problem.
This could be her. The birthplace is out, but the age and location fit. The name is very difficult to read. The page is faint and the hand is not good.

Thanks, Rick. In spite of the difference in places of birth, I may have to send for the death certificate from the GRO after all. Worth a try.
